Audrey Karp-McClure, 86, of Crown Point, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 11, 1939, to the late Stanley and Kathrine (Sitar) Karp.

Audrey is survived by nephew, Robert A. Karp of Chesterton; niece, Wendy A. Karp of Lakewood, CO; great nephews, Chad O’Brien, and Alan Daily; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne McClure; brothers, Raymond R. Karp, and Donald J. Karp; and nephew, James D. Karp.

Audrey was a devout Catholic, being raised, educated, and baptized at Sacred Heart Church and Catholic School in Gary. Faith was very important to her and she lived by her Lord’s word and love each and every day.

Audrey graduated from Tolleston High School in Gary with the Class of 1956. She went on to work for the Post Tribune in Gary as an Executive Secretary from 1963 to 1998. After the Post Tribune, Audrey took a position as District Secretary for Northwest Indiana Special Education Cooperative from 1998 to 2004, where she would retire from after five years of dutiful service.

In her spare time, Audrey enjoyed flying planes, as she was a Licensed Private Pilot, and at home, weaving and gardening.

Audrey will best be remembered as a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.

In accordance with Audrey’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and a private interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Calumet Park Funeral Chapel of Merrillville has been entrusted with arrangements.
