Andrew M. Randazzo, 74, of Lowell, Indiana, passed away at home on Thursday, November 6th, 2025.
He was born in Gary, Indiana on July 9th, 1951, to Nunzio and Mary Randazzo. He was a proud graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1970, where he was active on the football team, theater, and choir. He went on to further his education at Vincennes University, where he studied Aviation Mechanics, while remaining in choir. He spent his career working at Whiting Corporation, and as an electrician foreman at Balemaster.
For many years he had found great comfort and companionship as a member of St. Edward Church, and at one time was active in the choir there as well.
On Nov. 10th, 1973, Andy married the love of his life, Rebecca Randazzo, and from that union came his two beloved daughters, Gwen and Janet, and the family continued to grow in faith and dedication.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Randazzo; loving children: Gwen (Alex) Alcalde and Janet Randazzo; cherished grandchildren: Nate, Tyler, Emma, Lizzie, Nicholas, Aliya, and Edwin; his dear sister: Fran (late Vincent) Daniels.
He is predeceased by his parents, Nunzio and Mary Randazzo; and brother, Gerald Randazzo. Andy will forever be known and remembered for his sense of humor, silly jokes, and love and devotion to his family. He will truly be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
There will be a visitation for Andy on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Edward Catholic Church (216 South Nichols Street, Lowell, IN 46356). Interment Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, In.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
For time and safety reasons, there will be no procession from the church. Anyone interested in joining the family at the graveside committal service is to meet in the parking lot of Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, In 46410) between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM before proceeding to the cemetery. I remember Andy when he was in choir at St. Edward’s. He had a great voice and he was fun too. We really missed him when he couldn’t be a part of choir anymore. He will be missed. Heaven’s gain is our loss. May you be soaring with the angels Andy.
Andy was a kind soul who could sing . I remember hearing him sing at mass . I’m so sorry for your loss, but know that he now rests with God and one day we will see him again.
