Allan “Jake” Hulse age 31, passed away January 5, 2024.  Jake was affectionate, a gifted writer, skilled worker, devoted father, loving son, loyal, brilliant, he loved to tease and harass his people.  If you knew him, you knew how witty he was, how funny, how much of a smartass he was.  He referred to himself as Batman.  His devotion to his babies was unmatched.  His Lilly was his princess. His Zaiden was his little prince. He taught them the four cores of respect, “3 things Daddy hates the most”– liar, cheat and thief.  He loved Batman since he was a baby and took that on as his nickname.  Many people called him Batman or Uncle Bats.  He was brilliant.  He didn’t need to look things up—he had a million factoids just right there in his brain to share.  He loved talking about space, history, mythology, earth science, spirituality, and just so many other things.  He loved to write dark, fictional stories as an emotional outlet. Loving heart, kind soul.  Loved to laugh.

 Jake is survived by his two beloved children, Lillith (8), Zaiden (7); He also recognized Kylee-Ann (15) as his own who has been a part of his life since she was little; Jake is also survived by his loving mother Brandi Hulse; father Richard (Cristina) Hulse; One sister Morgan Hulse (Jon Holman); his girlfriend Megan Hatch; his neice and nephew Ezra and Matilda; Aunt Kris Howisen (Erik), Uncle Dan Blanton (Amber), Uncle Josh Blanton (Torie) and many cousins, friends, and loved ones. Jake will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday January 10, 2024 at the Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville, IN from 1pm to 4pm.
