Alan Svitko, 43, of Merrillville, passed away July 15, 2023. He was a graduate of Merrillville High School and spent many years as a certified auto mechanic throughout the region. In his spare time, he could be found fishing. He enjoyed nature and loved animals, caring for as many as he could. He was immensely artistic and found solace in writing poetry and drawing.
Alan is survived by his parents, Marcia and Anthony Svitko, Jr.; his sister, Jeannette Svitko; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Stephanie Patrick; and paternal grandparents, Anthony and Lorraine Svitko, Sr.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, with visitation from 5:00 PM until time of service at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, Indiana 46410.)
