**In Loving Memory of Alan Joseforsky**
Alan Charles Joseforsky, aged 83, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024 at the Life Care Center of Valparaiso. Alan was born on August 30, 1940 in Gary, IN to Eugene and Josephine Joseforsky. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, and friend. Alan lived a full and vibrant life. He was known for his dedication to family, kindness, and generosity. He worked as an Internal Revenue Service agent in Northwest Indiana for 43 years, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. He had a passion for golf, fitness, and travel, often spending his time visiting family around the world. Alan was a devoted member of the Gary Sportsman Club and Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, and contributing his time and energy to coaching in the Merrillville baseball and basketball youth programs for over 15 years.Alan is survived by his three children, Julie, Jimmy, and David, his grandchildren, Tyrus, Andy, Sydney, Victoria, Bella, TJ, Zach, and Jessica, and his daughters-in-law, Tanya and Michelle, and son-in-law, Steve.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald and sisters, Doris, Joanne, and Carol. Alan would like to recognize his ex-wife, Joan Cox, his friend, John Cox, nephew, Lud Yards, and niece, Debbie Cummins, for their support and care during his time of medical needs.
A visitation will be held on June 29, 2024 starting at 9am at Our Lady of Consolation in Merrillville, IN, followed by a memorial service at 10am. Burial of ashes will take place following the service at Calumet Park Cemetery. The celebration will end with a luncheon back at Our Lady of Consolation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the United Services Organization (USO) in Alan’s memory.
Alan will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace Alan. I remember you from the East side of Gary and my time in Northwest Indiana as a Special Agent with the IRS Intelligence Division (Criminal).
