Antonio “Tony” Ricardo Ramōn Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 after a short illness. He was 62 years old. He was surrounded by his family who loved him very much.
Tony led an incredibly full life. He was a lifelong member of the IBEW Local 697 and earned the distinction of “Apprentice of the Year” in 1987. He later taught at the apprenticeship school. He was very proud to be a part of the IBEW Brotherhood. He was a custom home builder and won “Best Builder” voted by his peers in the Parade of Homes twice. He had six beautiful children who he was tremendously proud of and loved very much.
Tony is best remembered as someone who loved to help others in any way he possibly could. His generosity, compassion, kindness, and genuine interest in others made a mark on the heart of every person whose life he touched. He was Chairman of a home renovation for “Christmas In April” in Portage, IN. He donated gifts and labor for the “Make A Wish” foundation. He coached soccer, and he spent many holidays donating his time at The Salvation Army. He encouraged his children to have compassion for others and always express gratitude to others when they gave help and support. Tony loved motorcycles, playing guitar, cooking the most delicious food, and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved God with all his heart and spread His grace and messages. He will be dearly missed.
Tony is survived by his six children: five from his first marriage to June Leato: Antonio “Rick” Ricardo Ramōn Jr., Trisha Marie (Jason) Potts, Rebecca Lynn Ramōn, Joshua Shane Ramōn, Sarah Ann Ramōn, and one from his second marriage to Marija Ramōn: Aleksandra Grace Ramōn; grandchildren Kylee Ramōn, Dylan Bogucki, Layla Ramōn, Hayden Ramōn, Lucas Bogucki, and Silas Hall; brother Juan Ramōn; sisters Stacy (John) Ellfeldt and Michelle (Paul) Kozubal. He is preceded in death by his father Donald Edward Ramōn and his mother Doris Rita Hendrixon (née Gelinas).
