Jesus Briseño Sr., 74, of Lake Station, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born on January 8, 1952, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, to the late Alberto and Maria Elena (Valderrama) Briseño, who survives. In 1972, Jesus married the love of his life, Blanca M. Aceves.

In addition to his father, Alberto Briseño, Jesus was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lupita Hernandez; brother, Martin Briseño; and sisters, Alicia Briseño, and Gloria Briseño.
Jesus proudly worked in operations for Inland Steel for over 38 years until his retirement. He, alongside his wife and family, were active members of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station for the last 52 years.
In his spare time, Jesus could be found tending to his yard or truck, working on various Do-It-Yourself projects around the house, carpentry and woodworking endeavors, watching soccer games, and listening to his beloved church hymns, mariachi, and ranchera music genres.
Most importantly, family was everything for Jesus. Whether it was simply having a family get-together or going on vacations across the world with his family, he never wanted to miss a moment with his loved ones. His children fondly look back on their trips to Mexico, where they would spend time at the ocean, learning to tackle the waves by the “wave fighter” himself, Jesus.
Jesus will best be remembered as a deeply faithful man and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and godfather. He held a hardworking, loving, and caring personality throughout his life that shall always be cherished by his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all.
