Jesus Tinoco Gonzalez, of Lake Station, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 83.

Jesus was born to Antonio Tinoco and Antonia Gonzalez Macias in Jalisco, Mexico.  In the States, he built a beautiful life for his family through hard work and love, qualities which continue to be admired and span many generations.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and by his devoted wife, Amelia Murillo Vargas.

He is survived by his loving children: Juan (Lourdes), Martin  (Maribel), Jesus (Angelina), Alfonso (Natividad), Guadalupe (Martha), Miguel (Magy), Oscar (Maria), Salvador (Monica), Taurino, Antonio, Ilda (Juan), MariaCruz (David), Jose Manuel (Leonor), and Rigoberto; cherished grandchildren; Juan Jose, Nancy, Omar, Lorena, Esmeralda, Victoria, Prisscila, Juan Miguel, Mauricio, Jesus Jr, Andrew, Alina, Veronica, Alfonso Jr, Guadalupe, Maria, Araceli, Alicia, Miguel Jr, Cynthia, Oscar Jr, Ricardo, Yessica, Giovanni, Emmanuel, Lisbeth, Jasmin, Janeth, David Jr, Sebastian, Alexander, Kayla, Valeria, Jaquelin, Angel, Aiden; 46 great grandchildren; and a host of dear extended family.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Calumet Park Hobart-Portage Chapel (370 North County Line Road, Hobart, Indiana, 46342)

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, directly at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (330 E 45th Ave, Gary, IN 46409). Interment to follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage, Indiana.
