Tashko Vraniskoski, age 58, of Crown Point, Indiana, formerly of Mali Vlaj, Macedonia, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Mali Vlaj, Tashko came to the United States at the age of 10, settling in the Gary/Crown Point area where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and deep appreciation for the outdoors.
A man with a quiet strength and a generous heart, Tashko found true joy in the simple things—early mornings by the water with a fishing pole in hand, the peacefulness of the mountains that reminded him of home, and the laughter of his grandchildren who knew him lovingly as “Taco Taco.”
He was proud of many things in his life, but none more than his family and the day he officially became a United States citizen on September 5th, 2025—an accomplishment he held with immense pride.
Tashko was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral. He was a self-employed truck driver whose strong work ethic and independence defined much of his life and career.
He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, proudly supporting the Bears and Cubs throughout his life. Nature was his refuge. He found comfort in the stillness of the woods, the calm of the water, and in the time spent hunting and fishing with those he loved.
Tashko was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and Dedo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Julie (nee Coleman) Vraniskoski, parents, Gligor and Kola Vraniskoski; his children, Gligor J. (Julie) Vraniskoski and Brianna (Shane) Boyer; and his cherished granddaughters, Elliana and Mila Boyer, who brought endless light to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvana (Kire) Jovanoski; nephew Aleksandar Jovanoski; niece Kalina Jovanoski; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 10 AM, S.S. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 9660 Broadway Crown Point, IN with Funeral Services beginning at 11 AM. Rev Aleksandar Mitrov and Rev Georgij Gligorov officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery. For further information, please call Mileva Savich at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 219-736-5840.

I met Tashko through his son, Greg and daughter-in-law, Julie Mirro, and I’ll always remember how kind and family-focused he was. He had a quiet warmth and a way of making people feel welcome. It’s clear he built a family that reflects those same values, and that’s a beautiful legacy. I’m so sorry for your loss, and I’m holding you all in my thoughts.
