John T. Polihronis, Jr. passed away on November 18, 2025, in Urbandale, Iowa, at the age of 56. Born on April 23, 1969, in Gary, Indiana, John grew up in Lowell, Indiana, before making his way to Chicago and Arlington Heights, and most recently settling in Urbandale.
John was a graduate of Indiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in graphic arts management. John was a dedicated and talented production artist for many years in Chicago.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, John deeply cherished his family. He married the love of his life, Brittany Huelat, on October 25, 2008, in Chicago. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. John is survived by his wife Brittany and their three beloved children: John Stavros Bruce, Samantha Rose, and Theodosios Thomas, all of whom reside in Urbandale.
John’s passion for life was shown in his many interests. As an avid sports fan, he rooted for the Blackhawks, Bears, and the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. He also found joy in cooking, especially dishes such as Greek chicken and rice, Avgolemono soup (fondly prepared with his YaYa), and Mexican chicken and rice.
He enjoyed attending his children’s events, whether it was watching Stavros play baseball, participating in the Indian Princess with Samantha or cooking with Theo, all of which were an invaluable way for them to bond and share priceless experiences and memories.
He is remembered fondly by his mother, Alma Polihronis of Munster, Indiana; his sisters, Diane (David) Bernstein of Bedford, Massachusetts, and Rebecca Polihronis of Chicago, Illinois; as well as seven nieces and nephews: Mia, Annie, Anthony, Mia, Liam, Maxcine, and Genevieve.
John was preceded in death by his father, John T. Polihronis, and his uncle, Thomas Douglas. His memory will be cherished deeply by all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed.
