Donald P. Freeman Sr, age 87, passed peacefully on Sunday October 19, 2025.

He is survived by his beloved children: Donald (Tina) Freeman, Patty (Bill) Dillin and Sharlene (John) Campbell; cherished grandchildren: Shaun, Eric, Kayla, Jayson and Angela; dear great grandchildren: Jayden, Michelle, Arianna, Silvio, Lana, and Wyatt. Don is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Treva, grandson Donnie Freeman.

Don proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was a Medical Specialist, Expert in Carbine, Marksman in Rifle and All -Events Bowling Champion in the 5th Region Bowling Tournament of Fort Sheridan.

He retired from US Steel Gary Works. Don enjoyed time with his loving wife, family and Musky fishing in Northern Wisconsin.

Don will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Donald will be held on October 24, 2025 from 10:00AM-12:00PM with a funeral service following at 12:00PM. All services will be held at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St. Gary, IN 46408. Interment and military honors will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
