Ilija Risteski, born on October 1, 1955, in Ohrid, Macedonia, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle.
Ilija was the beloved son of Zivko and Ratka Risteski. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rodna; his son Marjan (Jolita) Risteski; his daughters Hristina (Ilce) Kostoski and Maja (Andrew) Pawlowski; and his cherished grandchildren: Jana, Martin, Luka, Daniel, and Kristian. He is also survived by his brother Zlate (Radica) Risteski and sister Mirjana (Dragan) Djurcinoski, along with their families.
Ilija will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He found great joy in being part of the Macedonian Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul, where he spent time with friends and played soccer—two things that brought him comfort and happiness.
His presence, warmth, and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
