Earl Wayne Bellar, “Pappy”  78, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025. 

He was born on April 30, 1947 in Gary, IN. Wayne graduated from River Forest High School class of 1966. He was drafted and served his country for 2 years (67-68) in the Vietnam War as an artillery specialist for the Army.   

Wayne enjoyed his job for many years as a bricklayer at Inland Steel Mill before retiring in 2009. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Pat  Bellar; his 2 parents Earl and Ruth Bellar , and sisters Penny and Carol.  He is survived by his 2 sons Dwayne (Dink) Bellar and David Bellar; daughter Michelle Bellar; 2 granddaughters Kaci ( husband Josh and great grandson-to-be Ashton DeArmond) and Madison; 4 sisters Nancy, Peggy, and Donna, Pam; numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Wayne will be held on Thursday September 18, 2025 from 3PM-7PM. A funeral service will be held Friday September 19, 2025 at 10AM. All services will be held at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 370 N County Line Road, Hobart, IN 46342. Interment will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery. Pastor John Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers, please take a veteran to lunch or do something special for a member of the Armed forces.
