Micko “Mike” Bicevski, age 74, passed away peacefully with is family by his side on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Micko is survived by his loving wife, Marjana, along with many other family members both here, in Australia and in Macedonia. Micko immigrated to the United States on February 11, 1970. He was a member of S. S. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral. Micko is a retired employee of U.S. Steel Company with over 35 years of dedicated service; he worked in the Blast Furnace, operated the crains at U. S. Steel and drove the train inside the company. His employment began 3 days after he arrived in the United States. He was also a member of the Social Club.
Micko loved nature and the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and gardener. He loved to travel, he liked to drive during those travels especial through nature. He raised his beloved Peacocks and Chickens on his property as he called it “hobby farm”. Micko loved being an American Citizen and mentioned all the time ” God Bless America and U. S. Steel”. He was very grateful for the opportunities given to him by both this country and U. S. Steel.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at S.S. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 9660 Broadway, Crown Point, at 11:00 am, and with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Rev Georgij Gligorov and Rev Aleksandar Mitrov officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
